The application of DMI

DMI is a non-protonic, highly polar solvent with unique physical and chemical properties. DMI can replace the carcinogenic HMPA and outperforms common inert solvents such as DMSO and DMF, offering strong solvency. DMI is widely used in pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, dyes/pigments, microelectronics, engineering plastics, surface treatment, and other fields.

1.Reaction solvent

DMI boasts excellent thermal and chemical stability. DMI has the ability to dissolve inorganic and organic compounds as well as various resins. Moreover, DMI has a strong catalytic effect, which can increase the absorption rate of the reaction solvent and effectively control its side effects while reducing the time required.

2.Extending drug action time

DMI can accelerate the dissolution of various drugs, enhance the stability and transdermal absorption of the active ingredient, and prolong the duration of drug action.

3.Aromatic extractant

DMI has a high boiling point and thermal stability and does not easily form azeotropic mixtures with other substances. This property allows DMI to dissolve aromatic compounds and unsaturated hydrocarbons, making it an excellent aromatic extractant.

4.Photoresist stripping agent

DMI has low viscosity, high dielectric constant, and strong penetration ability. Therefore, DMI can be used as an electrolyte solvent for high-performance lithium batteries and a stripping agent for silicon chip photoresists.

5.Detergent

DMI has a strong ability to dissolve dirt. When mixed with surfactants, it can produce a powerful detergent.

6.Dissolving and dispersing pigments and dyes

DMI, when used as a solvent component mixed with dyes and pigments to make ink, can produce images with sharp contrasts and clear picture quality.

7.Surface treatment agent

DMI can be used as a surface treatment agent to improve the adhesion of ABS, polyimide, PPS, polytetrafluoroethylene, and other materials with epoxy resin adhesives.
